This used to be Gatorbone Lake in southern Clay County, Florida, north of Keystone Heights. This is the recharge zone for the Floridan Aquifer -- north and central Florida's vast underground water supply. Our friends own a home (and this dock) on the banks of the lake -- now totally dry. 12 months ago the water was at the end of the dock. Over the last 10 years it has receded 300 yards. Yes, we have a major water water crisis here in Florida -- yet the development and landscaping continues. I could go on (and on...). Next time you see Governor Scott, please ask him what he's going to do when his well runs dry.
